I was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. I attended Trent University, where I obtained a B.Sc. in Biology with an emphasis in Northern and Polar Studies before attending the University of Edinburgh in Scotland to complete my M.Sc. in Geoscience and Climate Change. My education in Environmental Science led me to some fantastic employment opportunities to live, work and travel all over the world with various wildlife and environmental fieldwork contracts.
After meeting some inspiring legal professionals in the course of my fieldwork, I decided to return to university to complete my law degree. Upon graduation from Bond University in Australia, I lived in Toronto and the GTA where I had the opportunity to gain experience in the practice areas of environmental, criminal, family, real estate, and wills and estates law. In 2020, an unexpected opportunity led me back to Peterborough, where I always hoped to return. I am so grateful to be back in Peterborough to live and practice law in our wonderful community.
Sullivan Law is the type of law firm where I've always wanted to practice law but didn’t know could truly exist. The office culture is so positive, providing the right balance of professionalism, humour, and safe place for each person to express their individual personality. My colleagues are incredibly kind, and their enthusiasm for their roles is infectious. They are consistently looking to see how they can support one another and make the firm better than the day before. While everyone takes their work seriously, there is certainly no shortage of laughter on any given day.
I want my clients to leave our office feeling understood and cared for. Confronting a legal matter can be overwhelming and can bring up numerous emotions. I want to ensure my clients’ experiences are as positive as possible for their circumstances. My goal is for them to feel empowered with the legal advice they have been provided and confident to make their decisions moving forward.
I deeply appreciate connecting with people. I think much of life’s magic comes from exchanging lived experiences, perspectives and finding little connections with others. My favourite aspect about practicing law is the opportunity to find these connections with clients from such diverse backgrounds and experiences.
